Meet Jennie, your Alaska Travel Expert

Hi, I’m Jennie! I’m a born and raised Seattleite and I lived in Alaska for seven years, working as a guide. I visit multiple times a year and my skill is in understanding what’s most important to you and planning YOUR perfect itinerary for YOUR crew. I’ve traveled all over the state (including super remote Gates of the Arctic National Park) and helped visitors have the trip of a lifetime!

You can be confident you’re getting good advice about how to spend your time and budget and just focus on getting excited about your Alaska Adventure!

We had a blast! Your recommendations were very helpful, especially to stay in Girdwood, the glacier cruise and the hikes you recommended.

How does this Travel Planning thing work?

Working with a travel planner is different from working with a travel agent or travel advisor. The big difference is that YOU will book everything yourself. I will make sure I fully understand your goals and budget and then you’ll get a custom hour by hour itinerary for your crew to make your Alaska vacation an unforgettable trip of a lifetime. The benefits include:

  • I don’t receive commissions, so you can be confident I’m only recommending what I personally believe in, what I recommend to you does not impact how I get paid. You pay me for my expertise and I give it…that’s it!
  • I have deep knowledge and connection to Alaska, from Juneau to Fairbanks and almost everywhere in between.
  • I’m an experienced guide – I know how to help people have the best experience possible!
  • I’ll focus on what YOU want and create the best itinerary for YOU and YOUR crew
  • I’ll work within your budget that you give me
  • You’ll save money! Paying for expert advice saves you money overall.
  • I only do real talk – I’m not afraid to share unpopular opinions!

You have a couple of options, read all about them below!

Expert advice – One on one Zoom Meeting to get all your questions answered and point you in the right direction

Just looking for advice? I’ve got you! If you just want some expert advice, but not a full itinerary, Zoom Alaska is for you.

The first step is for you to complete the Travel Questionnaire and then I’ll send you a planning agreement and invoice.

Once you’ve completed the questionnaire, telling me everything that’s important to you (including dates of your trip, group size, accommodations needed, how you like to travel, etc), we’ll set up a Zoom call to talk it through. I’ll answer all your questions and we will talk through trade offs of different itineraries for your budget and time. You’ll leave the call with your dates and basic outline of your itinerary!

You’ll also get my Alaska Budget Worksheet so you can keep track of your costs and keep things in budget as well as my Alaska Trip Planner Worksheet which we’ll complete during the Zoom so you know exactly what to do and in what order. I’ll also give you my Alaska Packing Checklist!

Then you book everything and off you go! Time and money saved and you get to start looking forward to your trip instead of dreading the planning or wondering how to start.

Please just plan it all for me! – Custom Itineraries

If you want an expert to plan the whole thing for you and all you have to do is book it, a custom itinerary is for you!

The first step is for you to complete the Travel Questionnaire and then I’ll send you a planning agreement and invoice.

Once you’ve completed the questionnaire, telling me everything that’s important to you (including dates of your trip, group size, accommodations needed, how you like to travel, etc), we’ll set up a Zoom call to talk it through and for me to get to know your needs a bit more. This will also give us a chance to talk about trade offs with your budget and where you want to spend your money. I’ve found this improves the first draft of your itinerary by a lot and saves us both time in the long run.

After that, I’ll put together the first draft of your itinerary for you and your crew to review. Once you review it and give me your feedback I will build the final version of your itinerary and send it to you! You’ll also get a customized packing list for your itinerary.

Finally, you book it! I highly recommend booking as soon as you receive your itinerary to ensure maximum availability and accuracy of pricing information.

What you get in your Itinerary

  • A fully customized hour by hour itinerary for your trip to Alaska, based on how you like to travel and your budget. It will be entirely unique to you, based on what you and your crew want to do
  • Recommendations with a back up for lodging
  • Where to find the best food in Alaska (and what to avoid!)
  • Customized packing list for your itinerary
  • All recommendations are entirely my own and based on your interests and goals and will be completely custom based on what’s most important to YOU
